Welcome

2020 Design-Build for Water/Wastewater Conference is Canceled

Like you, DBIA is working hard to look beyond the pandemic to a time when we can have some level of normalcy in our lives. While no one can predict exactly when that will occur, we know that design-build will remain critical to helping our nation recover.

COVID-19 has not -- and will not -- diminish the importance of education, networking and idea-sharing for both individuals and organizations. Unfortunately, with the cancellation of our April 20-24 Design-Build for Water/Wastewater and Design-Build in Transportation/Aviation Conferences, our conference attendees working in this market sector will miss out on these important things later this month.

That means peer-to-peer engagement, education, networking and business development will be more important than ever on the back end of this pandemic. So DBIA is providing the following value-added for our Water/Wastewater and Transportation/Aviation registrants and supporters:

  1. Virtual Tote Bags: All sponsors and exhibitors originally scheduled for the April conference will have the opportunity to create a virtual tote bag to be distributed to those who were registered for the conference, as well as thousands of others engaged in the water/wastewater and transportation/aviation sectors. This virtual tote bag will allow exhibitors to store content digitally so that DBIA can easily share it with you, just as if you were walking the expo floor to make these valuable connections. DBIA will be back in touch in mid-April with details on how to your tote bag.

  2. Expansion of Design-Build Conference & Expo: DBIA’s annual conference scheduled to take place October 28-30 in National Harbor, Maryland (DC Metro area) will be expanded to include education and networking opportunities specifically for the water/wastewater and transportation/aviation sector. While this is not intended as a replacement for the full conference, it is an opportunity for leaders in these sectors to reconnect after months of uncertainty and cancelled industry events. Among the added features will be:

    1. Full track of education on Water/Wastewater
    2. Full track of education on Transportation/Aviation
    3. Full track of education on Technology
    4. Expanded expo hall with:
      1. Civil Infrastructure “Boulevard”
      2. Technology Pavilion
    5. An added networking opportunity specifically designed to connect individuals from these important market sectors

If you are interested in attending the Design-Build Conference & Expo, DBIA will honor the registration rate you paid for the cancelled event. To take advantage of this offer, simply contact conferences@dbia.org to request this special rate. DBIA will then invoice you when registration for the fall conference opens.

In summary here are your options as a conference attendee:

  1. You may roll over your registration to the 2021 Water/Wastewater and Transportation/Aviation events to be held March 22-26 in Seattle. Your registration may also be transferred to the 2020 Design-Build Conference & Expo, October 28-30 in National Harbor, Maryland (DC Metro area), which has been expanded.

  2. You may request an immediate, full refund of your registration costs. No cancellation fee will be assessed. Send refund requests to conferences@dbia.org.

DBIA extends our heartfelt thanks to you as we navigate the uncertainties in our industry and our world. Aside from your health and safety, our primary goal remains to keep you on the cutting edge of the industry and poised to “jump back in” to the business at hand as soon as we can.

We look forward to your continued engagement and support.

Conference Exhibitors and Sponsors should go to the Service Center for your details.
